Welcome to UptownWalk, a blog dedicated to sharing photos (and videos) of uptown Charlotte in the lovely state of North Carolina. As an urban development enthusiast, I love to take a stroll during lunch break and snap pictures of the skyline and construction in and around the Queen City. Simply put, a place to store my gallery.
4th of July
A great way to kick off the first post. Last night was hectic in uptown Charlotte. Thousands of people flocked to the Romare Bearden Park and BB&T Stadium where Team USA took on Cuba in a friendly international contest (USA won 5-1). Majority of the visitors were there for the firework show, billed as the biggest Skyshow in the Southeast. Every inch of the Third Ward park was occupied; chairs lined 4th Street, Mint Street, and Graham Street.
The evening was beautiful, the skyline was even more beautiful with its' red, white, and blue lightning theme. Video above was taken by nephew on the way to the viewing.
A short clip of the Skyshow...was low on memory so couldn't capture the whole thing.
A random couple by the old court house.
